Just a few hours ago Jake hit you all with the news that Rogue Pictures would be releasing Tarsem Singh’s WAR OF THE GODS on November 11, 2011! Well if that wasn’t enough now we’ve got yet another big name joining the cast!
Alright maybe it’s not a huge name: Stephen Dorff. That’s right ladies and gentlemen, according to Variety none other than Stephen Dorff has signed on to star in Relativity Media’s WAR OF THE GODS as ‘Stavros, a master thief who joins Theseus on his quest to help free Greece from the dark threat of the Titans.’ Who’s Theseus?
Story follows a young warrior Theseus who leads his men into battle with the immortal Greek gods to defeat evil and the powerful elder gods of the Titans in order to save mankind. Pinto is set to portray Phaedra, an oracle priestess who must join Theseus on his quest to prevent the cataclysmic war from erupting.
Alright that explains it. Henry Cavill is on board as ‘Theseus’ along with Kellan Lutz, Mickey Rourke and the gorgeous Freida Pinto (below). Plans are for WAR OF THE GODS (or DAWN OF WAR in some circles…) to start shooting early this April in Montreal.
So what do you guys think? Can’t really go wrong with a cast that includes Rourke, Dorff (above) and Pinto right? And what about this name? I’m kind of favoring DAWN OF WAR… It’s got a catchy ring to it. Which are you digging more?
