Stephen King & Julianne Moore’s Lisey’s Story snags director

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Back in Aril, we let you guys know that J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot is producing an eight-episode adaptation of Stephen King's LISEY'S STORY for the Apple TV+ streaming service. The limited series is all set to star Julianne Moore, and today we're hearing that Moore has confirmed JACKIE director Pablo Larrain will direct the miniseries and filming will begin in the fall.

As mentioned above, Larrain is best known for helming JACKIE which starred BLACK SWAN actress Natalie Portman as First Lady Jackie Kennedy following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Never seen it myself, but I've heard good things.

TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE and KINGSMAN: THE SECRET CIRCLE actress Julianne Moore is set to star in this "deeply personal thriller" as Lisey. For those of you out there that might not be overly familiar with this particular Stephen King novel, here's a rundown on the book via Amazon:

Lisey lost her husband Scott two years ago, after a twenty-five year marriage of profound and sometimes frightening intimacy. Scott was an award-winning, bestselling novelist and a very complicated man. Early in their relationship, before they married, Lisey knew there was a place Scott went—a place that both terrified and healed him, could eat him alive or give him the ideas he needed in order to live. Now it’s Lisey’s turn to face Scott’s demons, to go to that terrifying place known as Boo’ya Moon. What begins as a widow’s effort to sort through the papers of her celebrated husband becomes a nearly fatal journey into the darkness he inhabited.

King, Abrams, and Moore are executive producing the limited series adaptation of King's LISEY'S STORY along with Bad Robot's Ben Stephenson. If you haven't had the joy of reading King's novel yet, you can go ahead and head right over to Amazon today and snag a copy of the book HERE.
