Stephen King’s Lisey’s Story adds Dane Dehaan

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot is producing an eight-episode adaptation of Stephen King's LISEY'S STORY for the Apple TV+ streaming service. The limited series is all set to star Julianne Moore, Clive Owen, and Joan Allen. And today we're hearing that Dane Dehaan (VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS, A CURE FOR WELLNESS) has joined the series as Jim Dooley, a huge fan of Scott’s (Owen) books who feels strongly about his unpublished work being released to the world.

TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE and KINGSMAN: THE SECRET CIRCLE actress Julianne Moore is set to star in this "deeply personal thriller" as Lisey while JACKIE director Pablo Larrain will direct the miniseries. Filming will begin in the fall.

For those of you out there that might not be overly familiar with this particular Stephen King novel, here's a rundown on the book via Amazon:

Lisey lost her husband Scott two years ago, after a twenty-five year marriage of profound and sometimes frightening intimacy. Scott was an award-winning, bestselling novelist and a very complicated man. Early in their relationship, before they married, Lisey knew there was a place Scott went—a place that both terrified and healed him, could eat him alive or give him the ideas he needed in order to live. Now it’s Lisey’s turn to face Scott’s demons, to go to that terrifying place known as Boo’ya Moon. What begins as a widow’s effort to sort through the papers of her celebrated husband becomes a nearly fatal journey into the darkness he inhabited.

King, Abrams, and Moore are executive producing the limited series adaptation of King's LISEY'S STORY along with Bad Robot's Ben Stephenson. If you haven't had the joy of reading King's novel yet, you can go ahead and head right over to Amazon today and snag a copy of the book HERE.
