Stranger Things to get at least three seasons, might end at four

We're still two months out from the day when Netflix will be releasing the second season of the pop culture phenomenon series Stranger Things on their streaming service, but series creators Matt and Ross Duffer are already looking ahead to the third and fourth seasons.

While speaking to Vulture, the sibling duo confirmed that season three has already been given the greenlight. As for a fourth season, Ross said: 

We're thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out."

Four seems like a reasonable number to go out on, and having four total seasons of Stranger Things sounds great to me.

The events of season two take place just under a year after season one, but Matt suggested that seasons three and four might not progress in the same way: 

I don't know if we can justify something bad happening to (the characters) once a year."

As for season two, the Duffers confirmed what the previews have made clear: like most sequels, this second season will be a bit bigger than its predecessor.

With a cast that includes Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Winona Ryder, Sean Astin, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, Paul Reiser, Dacre Montgomery, Sadie Sink, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Millie Bobby Brown, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Brett Gelman, and Linnea Berthelsen, season two has the following synopsis: 

It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the demagorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.

The episodes of Stranger Things' second season will be available for binge watching on Netflix as of October 27th.
