Yesterday we got our first look at M. Night Shyamalan's THE VISIT which looks like a return to form for the once promising director. Whether that turns out to be true remains to be seen, but we can judge another project from the filmmaker right now. The first episode, directed by Shyamalan, is streaming via Hulu for the next week in advance of the premiere of the 10 episode event series next month.

Based on the novel by Blake Crouch, Wayward Pines looks like a cross between Lost, Under the Dome, and Twin Peaks.

Secret Service agent Ethan Burke (Academy Award nominee Matt Dillon, “Crash,” “City of Ghosts”) arrives in the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, ID, on a mission to find two missing federal agents. But instead of answers, Ethan’s investigation only turns up more questions. Each step closer to the truth takes Ethan further from the life he knew, from the husband and father he was, until he must face the terrifying reality that he may never get out of Wayward Pines alive.

Add to that intriguing plot you have a cast that cannot be described in any other way but stellar: Matt Dillon, Terrence Howard, Melissa Leo, Carla Gugino, Charlie Tahan, Christian Tessier, Giacomo Baessato, Scott Michael Campbell, Shannyn Sossamon and Juliette Lewis. The first episode of the series will be available on FOX's website and Hulu only from April 24-30 while the series will debut on television on May 14th.
