Street Fighter folks

As previously announced, my longstanding infatuation Kristin Kreuk will be playing the slightly more thick-legged kicker-queen Chun Li in the new live-action STREET FIGHTER movie.

Now she’s got some company: man-mountain Michael Clarke Duncan is playing boxer Balrog, “dude” actor Chris Klein will be someone named Nash, and Rick Yune (THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS) is “the mystical Gen.”

Also among the cast is exotic fox Moon Bloodgood, Black Eyed Peas singer Taboo, and Hong Kong legend Cheng Pei Pei (CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON). The whole big button-mashing combo-filled videogame punch-up comes from unpronounceable director Andrzej Bartkowiak (DOOM, ROMEO MUST DIE).

I have to ask — does anyone still have any actual emotional investment in this series (outside of Chun Li/Cammy slashfic, of course)? I can’t remember caring about it since arcade machines took quarters instead of tokens or swipe-cards.
