Looks like it’s tweenie-horror day…which means to counteract, I’m ramping up the violence level in my 31 Days Of Horror this evening.
How many of you have heard of a novel by Laura Whitcomb called “A Certain Slant Of Light”? Have you read the sumbitch? You think it’s worthy of making a film out of?
Summit certainly thinks so, as the studio has just bought a spec script adapted from the novel by Kristin Hahn. No surprise here, but TWILIGHT producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey are doing the for IN THE FLESH as well.
The novel centers on a young woman who died 130 years ago whose guilt prevents her from moving on. She falls in love with another wayward spirit, who shows her how to inhabit a mortal body whose spirit has died.
Very little faith I have in this one, as it’s basically screaming PG-13 loud and clear at us. Not that all PG-13 horror automatically blows…but just check the pedigree and demographic this sucker’s aimed at. No thanks!
Are you a bit more lenient? You willing to give IN THE FLESH a chance?

Again, my favorite TWILIGHT hottie, Ashley Greene
