Looks like there’s one thing harder to shake for Nic Cage than a string of putrid hairpieces. And that’s staying out of the damn limelight!
Between SEASON OF THE WITCH, KICK-ASS, and THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE, his upcoming 3-D revenge flick DRIVE ANGRY may have been lost in the shuffle. Well, all that has ended, as THR states Summit Entertainment has picked up the rights to the film and will release it on Feb. 11, 2011.
Directed by Patrick Lussier (MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D) from a screenplay co-written with Todd Farmer (also MBV 3-D), DRIVE ANGRY centers on a man (Cage) driven by rage who is chasing the people who killed his daughter and kidnapped her baby. The vendetta/rescue spins out of control, as the chase gets bloodier by the mile, leaving bodies strewn along the highway.
And with the line: “leaving bodies strewn along the highway,” I just may need a fresh pair of trou!
Summit also put out the massively successful Cage flick KNOWING earlier this year, and no doubt hopes this flick will repeat.
Has it a shot?
