Maybe it’s just me, but don’t we get a new movie about the “Blood Countess” Elizabeth bathory every other year? None are ever high profile, but they’re out there all the same. (The last might have been Julie Delpy’s THE COUNTESS, but recently CHASTITY BITES had a new spin on the twisted lady.) I suppose it’s only logical: a woman who bathes in the blood of virgins is pretty spicy material.

Per Variety, Glacier Films has just started production on LADY OF CSEJTE in Transylvania with Russian actress Svetlana Khodchenkova in the title role. She already played evil quite well as the Viper in THE WOLVERINE, so all signs point to her doing a killer job.

Steven Schneider (PARANORMAL ACTIVITY) is producing alongside none other than Hayden Christensen, founder of Glacier Films. Who would have thunk it?

Official plot details aren’t available, but most of you are probably familiar with the tale of Elizabeth Bathory. The legend goes that the Countess slaughtered over 600 young women in order to retrieve youth and vitality from their blood. Just remember that the next time you complain about your girlfriend taking so much time with her make-up.
