So we just caught wind of a new haunted-house chiller starring Doug Jones, although the title seems to be up in the air at the moment. On its IMDB page, the film is referred to as END OF THE ROAD. On a new Film Catalogue page, the film is called SPIRIT HUNTERS. Before you address which title you dig most, let’s see what this low-budget ditty has to offer, shall we…

Directed by feature first timer J.P. Pierce, from a script by Monte M. Moore (SCREAMPLAY), END OF THE ROAD goes down like this:

Cinematographer and soundman, Morgan and Cricket, head to a remote Idaho ranch to film the pilot episode of “Spirit Seekers,” a new reality TV show about ghost hunters. When the host dies during filming, the production shuts down. Unbeknownst to the cast and crew, the show’s director planned the host’s death to boost ratings. Dr. Randolf Fairfax (Doug Jones) fears the bloodshed has awoken supernatural spirits that are now hell bent on their own revenge! The crew must try to survive, dodging bullets, ghosts, and a scheming television producer (played by Star Trek’s Robert Picardo) as they race to find out what is really going on at the end of the road.

Sounds like a PARANORMAL ACTIVITY/”Ghost Hunters” compendium, done so on a hand-held shoestring. We’ve seen lots of projects like this in the last year or two, hopefully this one distinguishes itself from the pack.
