Looks like this is the week for THE LONE RANGER, as Disney has been doing a staggered release of official promotional material, starting with the new stills we showed yesterday.  Now, we have the first teaser poster (as I’m sure there will be more to follow) and three more images from the upcoming Jerry Bruckheimer-produced pic.  Armie Hammer will debut the trailer on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight with the wide release set for Wednesday morning on Apple.

The teaser poster is pretty cool and it’s obvious they are playing up Depp’s role as Tonto.  Director Gore Verbinski has said that the story is narrated by Tonto and told from his perspective, which is a first for the long-standing characters. I think it’s a cool angle and, honestly, the smart move by Disney, as Depp has more drawing power than Hammer at this point.

Keep the Mask on:

THE LONE RANGER starring Armie Hammer, Johnny Depp, James Badge Dale, Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Wilkinson, Barry Pepper, William Fichtner, and Ruth Wilson hits the theatrical trail on July 3, 2013.
