What is scary? A simple question with a million different answers; each answer probably reveals a lot about the person doing the answering, and that’s what so fascinating about the question…

It also happens to be the subject of a new documentary by Adam Barnick called, naturally, WHAT IS SCARY? Barnick’s name may be familiar to some of you, as the man has directed making-of documentaries for the films GRACE and FROZEN, among many other things. Here he’s going for the full-length experience, with the titular existential question as the jumping off point.

Here’s the set-up: Since 2007 I have been inviting people in and out of the horror genre and from all walks of life to call a voicemail number I set up and answer one question as they saw fit: What is scary?
