Teaser trailer provides a glimpse of creature feature Red Billabong

After nearly ten years working various behind-the-scenes jobs on Australian productions, primarily in the costume department, Luke Sparke is making his feature writing and directorial debut with the action/thriller creature feature RED BILLABONG, and a teaser trailer has arrived online to give a look at what Sparke has in store for audiences.

Starring Dan Ewing, Tim Pocock, Sophie Don, Jessica Green, Ben Chisholm, Greg Fryer, John Reynolds, Felix Williamson, Emily Joy, James Straiton, and Col Elliot, the film has the following synopsis:

Two estranged brothers and their friends are pulled into a world of mystery and lies when their grandfather’s property is passed into their hands. As both brothers are pulled apart by different choices, one thing is clear – something sinister is going on. As people go missing the brothers learn secrets that will change their life forever – but what is out there? A myth? A hoax?

Or could it really be… real?

The teaser, which nicely builds up the intensity as it goes along, isn't giving much away, but I am quite impressed by the imagery that's on display. Nice cinematography, good production value, and the shots we see of (parts of) the monster are nothing like I was expecting.

RED BILLABONG will have a presence at the Oz Comic Con in Brisbane, Australia on September 19th and 20th and in Sydney on the 26th and 27th. International distribution sales are being handled by Arclight Films.
