There’s a flick I came across today that instantly snagged my interest and I just had to share it with all of you!
The film is called THE MOURNING PORTRAIT and while not much is known about it what we do know is pretty damn interesting. First up we’ve got a teaser trailer for the flick thrown together by director Paul Schattel over in our videos section, so just scroll down below to check that out.
The trailer is a teaser in every sense of the word and I’m digging it! Now ready for a hint about what we’re looking at with THE MOURNING PORTRAIT? Schattel recently dropped a line to the guys over at ShockTillYouDrop giving a little insight as to what the film is about:
“It’s about those creepy post-mortem photos often taken in the early 20th Century. People who read the script remarked how it felt (tonally at least) like Guillermo del Toro’s ‘The Devil’s Backbone’ – sort of a thinking man’s horror film.”
Post-mortem photos? Thinking man’s horror film? THE DEVIL’S BACKBONE? Well sh*t I’m intrigued! The film is coming from Belladonna Feature Films with Diane Ladd starring and the duo of Garret Dillahunt and Melissa Leo producing. Shooting on THE MOURNING PORTRAIT is set to begin soon.
