Terminator: Genesis casts Dayo Okeniyi in crucial role

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

A few days ago we tipped you off that TERMINATOR: GENESIS was looking to cast its final leading role, that of the son of Miles Dyson (who was played by Joe Morton in T2). ATTACK THE BLOCK’s John Boyega’s name had popped up, but today we learn he’s been pushed aside in favor of another rising star, Dayo Okeniyi.

Okeniyi portrayed “Thresh” in THE HUNGER GAMES, while recently starring in THE SPECTACULAR NOW and ENDLESS LOVE. Deadline describes his character in TERMINATOR as a “Steve Jobs genius who figures heavily into the conclusion of the film.”

TERMINATOR: GENESIS also stars Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, J.K. Simmons and Jai Courtney. It’s being directed by Alan Taylor (THOR: THE DARK WORLD) and is gunning for a July 1, 2015 release date.
