Terrifier 3 will be set on Christmas!

The Terrifier franchise is switching holidays with the upcoming Terrifier 3, moving from Halloween to Christmas

Terrifier 2 – which was a massive hit when it was released last year, earning $15.1 million at the box office on a budget of $250,000 – will be getting a theatrical re-release on November 1st – and when the movie returns to the big screen, it’s going to be accompanied by a teaser for the upcoming sequel Terrifier 3. The first 100 fans at each theatre will also receive an exclusive Terrifier 3 poster… and with those materials arriving at participating theatres now, an image of the poster has leaked online, revealing that the sequel is going to be set on Christmas!

Due to the poster image leaking online, the film’s producers and writer/director Damien Leone have confirmed that Terrifier 3 is indeed a Christmas horror movie. As for the teaser that’s going to be shown during the presentation, Leone has said, “For those of you speculating that the Terrifier 3 teaser is just gonna be some 20 second gimmick, I assure you it’s a legit teaser/trailer, it’s over 2 minutes long, and you’re gonna love it. Exclusively in theaters November 1st!

Tickets to the Terrifier 2 re-release are available now wherever movie tickets are sold, including Fandangothe official website, and Atom Tickets.

Written and directed by Leone (who has recorded a special introduction for re-release screenings), Terrifier 2 tells the following story: After being resurrected by a sinister entity, Art the Clown returns to Miles County where he must hunt down and destroy a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night.  As the body count rises, the siblings fight to stay alive while uncovering the true nature of Art’s evil intent.

Terrifier star David Howard Thornton reprises the role of the bloodthirsty Art the Clown and is joined in the cast of Terrifier 2 by Lauren LaVera (Iron Fist), Elliott Fullam (Instinct), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Tamara Glynn (Halloween 5), Samantha Scaffidi (American Fango), Griffin Santopietro (Cobra Kai), and Chris Jericho (Killroy Was Here).

This sequel is actually the third feature with Art the Clown in it. Before making Terrifier, Leone introduced the character in short films that were included in the 2013 horror anthology All Hallows’ Eve.

Leone had this to say about the re-release: “This year has been unlike anything we could have imagined. To see all the love Terrifier 2 has received and the excitement this release has inspired from fans new and old, is truly beyond words. As a thank you to our fans and the many people who worked tirelessly on this release, we want to bring it back to the big screen where it belongs. And more than that, while fans eagerly await the release of Terrifier 3 next year, we want the chance to share what we’ve been working on for the third installment because a year is just too long to wait.

Brad Miska, Managing Director of Bloody Disgusting/Cineverse, added: “Terrifier 2‘s return to theaters is the perfect farewell to the Halloween season, an event that will have audiences clinging onto their barf bags once again. This exemplifies the pinnacle of horror cinema, an experience that etches itself into memory. Between the exclusive Terrifier 3 scene that will only be shown in theaters to the exclusive poster, this is a night you won’t want to miss out on.
