Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 corpse prop freaks out the TSA

Last weekend, the Mad Monster convention was held in the Scottsdale, Arizona area, and among the guests were several veterans of the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE franchise. There was Edwin Neal from the original 1974 film; William Butler from LEATHERFACE: TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE III; Bill Johnson, Bill Moseley, and Caroline Williams from TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2; and in a rare appearance, Nubbins, the rotting corpse of a beloved family member that Moseley's character was always carrying around in part 2.

Nubbins was on hand for photo ops, and I'm sure a lot of fans had fun recreating TCM2's BREAKFAST CLUB-style poster image with him and his fellow part 2 stars.

Then the convention came to an end, and it was time for Nubbins to catch a flight home. Now, anyone who flies knows that the security checks can be a bit of a hassle sometimes, and that's something Nubbins found out last Sunday. Being a popular, thirty year old movie prop does not make you exempt from a thorough checking by the TSA.

On his way through the Atlanta airport, Nubbins was checked out by security and run through a X-ray machine. TSA workers documented the event with pictures, a photo op Nubbins was not expecting, tweeting out the images and describing him as "possibly the strangest thing at a TSA checkpoint".

The best thing about this is the fact that it earned Nubbins a mention from Good Morning America. The thought of TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2 getting some mainstream media attention thirty years after its release warms my heart.

Nubbins is safely back home now, and thanks Jim Siedow for taking that grenade away from him at the end of TCM2. To put it lightly, the TSA would have frowned upon that item.
