Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game: Edwin Neal provides the voice of the Hitchhiker

It was confirmed a while back that the Cook and the Hitch-hiker from the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie (watch it HERE) will be joining the iconic slasher Leatherface in the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game – and now the game’s developers have announced that Edwin Neal, who played the Hitch-hiker in the movie, will be providing the character’s voice in the game.

Coming to us from Gun Interactive (the company that previously brought us Friday the 13th: The Game) and Sumo Nottingham, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre video is set before the events of the original film and has the following set-up:

When Maria Flores went missing, and local law enforcement seemed to stall out in their search, her younger sister Ana teamed up with some of Maria’s friends from college to pick up the trail. It’s time for you to meet our cast of Victims.

Matches of the game will pit four potential victims against three killers. You can read about the victim characters HERE. In addition to Leatherface, the Cook, and the Hitch-hiker, the game will also feature killer characters that have been invented specifically for this game.

Genre icon Kane Hodder is providing the motion-capture performance for Leatherface in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game, and his co-stars include Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie’s Halloween), Kristina Klebe (Don’t Kill It), and Sean Whalen (The People Under the Stairs). It hasn’t been said who will be playing which character.

I’m very glad to hear that Edwin Neal will be reprising the role of the Hitch-hiker, at least vocally, for the game. It’s a shame Jim Siedow isn’t around to voice the Cook. Here’s hoping that other cast members from the original film and Bill Moseley from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 will also have the chance to contribute to the game in some way.
