The Amazing Spider-Man gets a “web” site

Did you like my punny headline? Thanks, I came up with that one all by myself. Horrible jokes aside, Sony has launched the official site for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN that features a whole bunch of new material from the film.

In addition to the film’s trailer, there’s also new downloadable wallpaper for the major characters in the film (feel free to download the Denis Leary/Capt. Stacy wallpaper – I won’t think you’re weird), images, plot details and more. OK, well not much more, that’s about all you usually get at an official site. But it’s SPIDER-MAN. And it’s refreshing to see them actually referring to Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors in an official capacity. There’s still no mention of The Lizard but there are allusions to his “transformation.”

I don’t know that I’m 100% sold on this film yet and I’m not sure that anything here is helping sell me on it either. I like the artificial web-shooters? And I like the graffiti logo (shown up above) and wish they’d use that a little more.

We’ve got a bunch of images uploading to our AMAZING SPIDER-MAN preview page and you can click here to head to the film’s official site.
