Creep, Triangle, and Black Death director Christopher Smith brings the horror again with the supernatural horror film The Banishing, which is set to receive a DVD and Blu-ray release from RLJE Films on November 2nd. (Pre-order a copy HERE.) A new trailer for The Banishing has arrived online ahead of its physical media release, and you can check it out in the embed above.

Scripted by David Beton, Ray Lines, and Dean Bogdanovich, The Banishing tells the

true story of the most haunted house in England. A young reverend, his wife and daughter move into a manor with a horrifying secret. When a vengeful spirit haunts the little girl and threatens to tear the family apart, the reverend and his wife are forced to confront their beliefs. They must turn to black magic by seeking the help of a famous Occultist… or risk losing their daughter.

The film stars Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey), John Hefferman (Dickensian), Adam Hugill (1917), John Lynch (The Fall), and Sean Harris (Mission: Impossible – Fallout).

The Banishing went over well with our reviewer The Iceman when it was released through the Shudder streaming service back in April. He described it as “a solid thriller that’s shot beautifully and amazingly acted”, and said it’s “a good time”. You can read his full review at THIS LINK.

Have you watched The Banishing during its time on Shudder? If so, will you be buying a copy of the film on physical media? Let us know by leaving a comment below.

If you haven’t watched The Banishing yet and have a Shudder subscription, the movie is still on there for you to try it out. I haven’t watched it and do currently have Shudder, so this news has reminded me that I should take a look at it.
