It’s been a good week to be a Chad Michael Collins fan. Not only did we get a trailer for the latest entry in the Sniper franchise, Sniper: No Nation (which is set to receive a digital and DVD release on April 7th), but the sci-fi horror film The Bunker, a project Collins worked on with genre icons Tony Todd (Candyman) and Tobin Bell (Saw) five years ago, has been given a digital and VOD release. You can check it out on Amazon’s Prime Video at THIS LINK.

The movie can also be found on Apple TV, Google Play/YouTube, Fandango at Home, Dish, and DirecTV, courtesy of Electric Entertainment.

Synopsis

Directed by Brian Hanson (The Black String), The Bunker has the following synopsis: When mysterious alien ships appear over Earth, rookie scientist Dr. Michelle Riley is sealed inside a top-secret bunker where she and a team of researchers must develop a bio-weapon capable of stopping the invaders. While isolated underground, Riley begins suffering terrifying hallucinations and growing paranoia, forcing her to question her team—and whether the real threat is the alien visitors or the humans she’s working with.

Chelsea Edmundson (Army of the Dead) plays that rookie scientist.

The film is produced by Aaron B. Koontz’s Paper Street Pictures, Kelby Thwaits, Kayli Fortun, Charles Bunce, and Brian Hanson. Jim Langston and Sharif Ibrahim are executive producers.

Statements

Edmundson provided the following statement: “It was very exciting to be cast as Dr. Riley, my first true lead. She’s a quiet, lone hero. I saw that type of role, growing up, more often played by men. This role was originally written as a male character but was changed for me to play, that’s quite an honor. Working with both Tobin Bell and Tony Todd was an amazing experience. Tobin brought a razor-sharp intensity, yet off camera, he was so kind, and gracious. With Tony’s passing, I count myself extra lucky and honored to have worked with him. The moment Tony walked on set, he carried a timeless, effortless charisma. Working with Tobin and Tony was inspiring. In The Bunker, I loved stepping into the mind of a woman who refuses to break. Isolated, unsure and connected only through fractured screens, Michelle is the underdog who finds new solutions and stands her ground when the world is literally falling apart. It’s a story about self-doubt, resilience and the quiet kind of heroism that might just save humanity.

Collins added, “It was a blast to put down my sniper rifle glass and don some high-IQ scientist specs as ‘Dr Sam Ellis’ in The Bunker – to go from thinking-man’s soldier to a biologist in a pressure cooker having to come up with a humanity-saving bioweapon with his team on a fast-ticking clock! I had fun leaning into a character that was trying to keep his wits about him and stay on-task while the stakes couldn’t be higher for planet Earth.

And Hanson had this to say: “If aliens ever visit Earth, are they coming in peace or are they about to start a war? The Bunker explores that question in a fun, gruesome Twilight Zone style. The cast is amazing and they keep you guessing about who is friend and who is foe up to the very last frame.
