I’ve made it no secret that I’m a huge fan of The Butcher Brothers’ THE HAMILTONS, which was actually part of the first annual After Dark Horrorfest. The low budget horror flick hit the G-spot in all the right places for this schmuck and left me in awe. So needless to say, this news today has me giddier than a TWILIGHT fan at a Robert Pattinson sighting! … Alright maybe not that giddy.. but you get the idea!
The news in question comes from the folks over at Imagination Worldwide and has The Butcher Brothers getting ready to bring us a HAMILTONS sequel! Said sequel will be titled THE THOMPSONS: THE HAMILTONS 2. THE HAMILTONS SPOILERS AHEAD! Now no official specifics have been released but we do know this sequel will follow our favorite homicidal vampire family as they move to a new town. Little do they know they’re not the only ones on the block with a bloodsucking secret… Nice! ‘The Thompsons’ is what The Hamiltons referred to themselves at the end of the first flick, so it looks like things will be picking up right where we left off.
I do have one major gripe with this sequel though… You see one of the biggest selling points to the first film was the genius twist at the end. Now obviously the secret is out and has become a major plot point in this second film. So where’s the draw? Hopefully The Brothers come up with another jaw-dropping twist! Also, a major part of the first film was Francis’ inner battle of good and evil. Considering he eventually joined the rest of his family in their homicidal tendencies it’ll be interesting to see how he acts now. So two of the things that made the first film great are out the window for this sequel. I’m going to go ahead and throw caution to the wind and look forward to this one anyway! Maybe The Brothers will come up with something equally juicy?
THE THOMPSONS: THE HAMILTONS 2 sees the entire Hamilton family returning: Joseph McKelheer, Cory Knauf, Samuel Childs and Mackenzie Firgens (below). Godspeed’s Joe McKelheer will be producing. No word on any sort of release date but as always, we’ll keep you updated!
