One flick we haven’t heard from in a while is The Butcher Brothers’ latest romp THE VIOLENT KIND. For the past year we’ve been hearing about this one hitting festivals here and there but unfortunately there’s been no word on any sort of wide release… until today!
Now before you get to excited let me just say we still don’t have an official release date for this little diddy but we do know it’ll be heading our way via Image Entertainment. Sorry if I got your hopes up but this is definitely a step in the right direction towards a release date. Word has it the film will be getting a limited theatrical release followed by a Blu-ray and DVD release. Natch!
Troubled Cody, a second-generation member of a violent and notorious Nor-Cal biker gang, rides out with his friends to party at a cabin located deep within the redwood forest. At the end of the wild evening, things take a turn for the worse when Cody’s ex-girlfriend Michelle is discovered wandering aimlessly and covered in blood, screaming and convulsing as if she were possessed by something unworldly. Cody and the others try desperately to help Michelle while stuck in the middle of nowhere, but their plans are quickly ruined when another malicious gang, seemingly from the 1950s, shows up “looking for a few kicks…the violent kind.” However, this ominous “Rockabilly” gang is not there to pick a fight. They want what’s mysteriously growing inside of Michelle – something very evil and powerful – and they will stop at nothing to get it!

THE VIOLENT KIND sports a cast that includes Taylor Cole (below), Tiffany Shepis, David Fine, Joseph McKelheer, Mackenzie Firgens, Cory Knauf, Bret Roberts, Joe Egender, Christina Prousalis, Samuel Child, Montgomery Paulsen, Nick Tagas and Ilea Matthews. So now that we know Image Entertainment will be handling distribution on this bad boy hopefully we’ll be getting an official release date soon. As always as soon as we hear the goods we’ll be sure to pass the word along to all of you!
