One horror flick the genre community as a whole seems to be looking forward to is Drew Goddard’s THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, which is coming ffrom a script by both Goddard and one Joss Whedon. Now we all know who Joss Whedon is. And we know the buzz around CABIN IN THE WOODS during pre-production was huge, so this thing better not disappoint!
Today the film took a step in the right direction, scoring an official rating of R for “strong bloody horror violence and gore, language, drug use and some sexuality/nudity.” Basically everything we want to see in a great horror flick! Sure we love our clever slasher flicks, our ghost stories and the occasional mindf*ck… but when it boils down to it, everyone loves a good time with their horror flicks… and CABIN IN THE WOODS is looking to deliver just that!
All we know for sure about CABIN IN THE WOODS is that it’s going to be a horror flick about a bunch of kids in a cabin in the woods. Then again wouldn’t it be a f*cking trip if Whedon and Goddard b*tchslapped us all and didn’t even involve a cabin and/or woods. I wouldn’t put it past that sneaky bastard…
Anyway CABIN IN THE WOODS stars Amy Acker (below), Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford, Jessie Williams, Chris Hemsworth, Fran Kranz, Kristen Connolly, Anna Hutchison, Brian J. White, Jodelle Ferland, Monique Ganderton, Tom Lenk, Terry Chen and Chelah Horsdal. It’s set to hit theaters everywhere (in 3D!) on January 14, 2011.
