Geoffrey Owens

Best known for playing the character Elvin Tibideaux on The Cosby Show, actor Geoffrey Owens was working at a Trader Joe's store in New Jersey four months ago. After being spotted working there (and being shamed for it by some), Owens was offered a role in the Tyler Perry television show The Haves and the Have Nots, and now he has landed a role in writer/director Joel David Moore's remake of Huh Jung's 2013 South Korean film HIDE AND SEEK (a.k.a. SUM-BAKK-OG-JIL).

Owens is joining a cast that includes Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Jacinda Barrett, Mustafa Shakir, and Joe Pantoliano.

Described as a "socially-minded" horror story that "nods to the crisis in affordable housing and the growing chasm between rich and poor", HIDE AND SEEK follows

a man searching for his long-lost brother who stumbles upon a secret world of squatters living in the homes of unsuspecting tenants — a revelation that becomes all the more menacing when his home becomes the next target.

Owens will be playing "a head of security who helps protect a family from attacks."

HIDE AND SEEK is being financed and produced by CJ Entertainment. Filming started in New York this week.

Owens, who has described this year in his life as "bizarre", will also be appearing in the noir thriller FATALE alongside Hilary Swank and was cast in an episode of NCIS: New Orleans, so being spotted in that Trader Joe's has turned out to be a positive thing for him at the end of the day.
