One project I really don’t want to see happen is this reimagining of THE CROW. Reason being is THE CROW is easily my favorite movie of all time and is a near perfect film. Put it up against most of the stuff polluting theaters today and it’ll still kick ass! So when word broke that Hollywood were planning on a reboot… it made my stomach turn.
Alas I’m not going to sit here and completely ignore this project. This CROW reboot is happening, so might as well embrace it right? F*ckno! Right. So that’s what brings me here today, to tell you all that THE CROW might have found it’s home! You see, Mania.com recently had a chance to chat it up with Stephen Norrington, who happens to be the guy saddled with the job of directing this remake. So what did Norrington have to say in regards to where this new film will take place?
“Part of the new story is set in Detroit and we’ve been discussing the logistics of shooting on location.”
Well this is somewhat good news, considering Alex Proyas’ original film was set in Detroit and offered the city’s annual Night’ as a major plot point. So what does this mean? Well firstly this isn’t a done deal… Producers are shopping for locations for THE CROW and Detroit just happens to be one of them. I think it’s a safe bet that Detroit will be the place though. Does this mean Norrington and company are going to attempt a straight remake of THE CROW? God I hope not…
Unfortunately speculation surrounds this news bit so there’s no telling what’s really going on until we hear more. Plans are for THE CROW to start filming this Summer so be sure to keep it here for updates!
