Leading visual effects company Cinesite will be working on “a significant amount of shots” on Paramount’s WORLD WAR Z, reports Screen Daily. Cinesite’s lengthy resume includes work on THE DARK KNIGHT, SWEENEY TODD, HELLBOY II, EVENT HORIZON, MOON, ALIEN VS. PREDATOR, and the HARRY POTTER films.

Cinesite managing director Antony Hunt said, “We’re very excited to have been awarded such a significant portion of visual effects for this highly anticipated movie. With our work on BATTLE: LOS ANGELES and GENERATION KILL, we’ve proven our ability to create scenes of epic destruction and realistic character animation. We can’t wait to do it again for World War Z.”

WORLD WAR Z is directed by Marc Forster and written by Matthew Michael Carnahan and J. Michael Straczynski, as adapted from the novel by Max Brooks. Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, James Badge Dale, Matthew Fox, Ed Harris and Julia Levy-Boeken (below) star. Here is the book’s plot.
