The Emoji Movie is still a thing that exists and has released a new trailer

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Contrary to popular belief, I don't like hating things. Mainly because I have high blood-pressure as it is, but also it's always better to like things and be happy (though if I were an emoji, it'd probably be an angry face one). However, while I'm trying to stay positive and keep an open mind (for instance, I was the first person to shit on THE LEGO MOVIE trailers, but ended up loving it once I saw it), I just don't know about this one. It doesn't even look particularly crazy or awful, it looks worse: generic and mediocre.

Anyway, here's the trailer for THE EMOJI MOVIE – starring T.J. Miller, James Corden, and Anna Faris – to see for yourself:

And here’s the international trailer:

Oof. I mean, like I said, I don't wanna be negative, so there is admittedly some solid stuff there (the casting of Steven Wright and Patrick Stewart as Meh and Poo Emoji, for one), but also the "loser" emojis hanging out was a cute scene, and the animation is obviously solid. Just, again, nothing that stands out or is particularly memorable.

But what do you Schmoes think? You down for the what Sony is selling? If so, sound off below!

THE EMOJI MOVIE will be texted to theaters July 28th.
