Back in November we brought you a teaser for THE EUROPA REPORT, a science fiction film with Sharlto Copley and directed by Sebastiàn Cordero. Things have been quiet since then, but we have news now that Magnet Releasing (a genre arm of Magnolia Films) has picked up distributing rights to the movie.

I love smart, gorgeously shot science fiction films that tap into humanity’s fears and questions about space. That doesn’t mean you just toss some extra scientific jargon into the script and hire a top level cinematographer though. If you’re going to raise people’s hopes of getting a truly epic and realistic science fiction film, you have to deliver. And it’s hard as hell…just ask PROMETHEUS and SUNSHINE.
THE EUROPA REPORT is looking to have a VOD launch later this year before it hits theaters in a limited release.
