The ever-popular Sharlto Copley now signs on to join Angelina Jolie in Maleficent

Sharlto Copley has been one hot commodity as of late, hasn’t he? Hell we barely just got finished telling you about the actor (right) joining both OLDBOY and OPEN GRAVE and now here we are with news on Copley being in talks to star in another project.

Deadline Hollywood has the word that Copley is now in talks to star in Disney’s MALEFICENT alongside Angelina Jolie. If he signs on Copley will be playing ‘King Stefan’ in the film, the male lead opposite Jolie’s (below) ‘Maleficent.’

MALEFICENT tells the backstory of Sleeping Beauty and why the evil fairy Maleficent cursed Princess Aurora in the first place.

Robert Stromberg is set to direct the feature, which already has a release date of March 14, 2014. Joe Roth is producing.
