Well folks it was back in June that we learned the classic William Friedkin film THE EXORCIST would be hitting Blu-Ray later this year. It took most of us all of about three seconds to slap that shite onto our Most Wanted list. So what better way to celebrate this classic genre flick hitting high definition then to see it again in the theater?!
That’s right ladies and gents, according to Fathom Events THE EXORCIST will be hitting theaters once again for a one night only showing to celebrate the film’s Blu-Ray debut! But when is this shindig going down? Thursday, September 30th! Just in time for the Blu-Ray’s October 5th release! But that’s not all folks. Apparently the version that will be showin in theaters is the Extended Director’s Cut that’ll include never-before-seen on-set footage from the making of the film and interviews with director William Friedkin, writer William Peter Blatty and members of the original cast and crew. I bet you’re foaming at the mouth to see if this one is playing near you, aren’t you? So what’re you waiting for? I’ve heard from countless people that seeing THE EXORCIST in a theater is one of their fondest theater memories. Hell my Dad still talks about it to this day! So when a movie-going experience stays with you for that long, there’s got to be something to it! I know I’m not the only one hoping to be sitting in a theater come September 30th!
