The full trailer for Oliver Stone’s Savages with Kitsch, Hayek, Travolta, and Del Toro

The full-length trailer for Oliver Stone’s SAVAGES has arrived and it looks like the director may finally be having some fun, delivering what looks to be a straight action-crime flick with a stellar cast, including Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Johnson, John Travolta, Salma Hayek, Benicio Del Toro, and Blake Lively.

Shoot ’em up:

I’ve been hoping that Stone would tackle the action genre for a while.  He’s got some serious technical skill that doesn’t get much use in the films he’s been doing of late, but this looks to have the high octane punch of NATURAL BORN KILLERS or ANY GIVEN SUNDAY, mixed up in a bowl of Tony Scott influence.

Could SAVAGES be this years FAST FIVE?  Other than EXPENDABLES 2, I can’t think of any other action movies coming out this summer.  SAVAGES is officially on my watch list.  I mean, if nothing else, seeing Kitsch and Johnson in their “Army of Two” get ups with semi-automatic machine guns should be pretty enticing.  Plus, I’m a sucker for mass vehicular carnage and orange balls of fire.  Call me crazy.

SAVAGES gets down and dirty on July 6, 2012.
