The Greats of Roth

It should come as no surprise that Eli Roth is attempting to position himself as the new Quentin Tarantino. We’re already familiar with their love affair – with um, old drive-in movies, I mean – and QT loves programming fests where he gets a chance to geek out among fellow movielovers. Eli’s got the same idea, and he’s programmed a mini-festival of a few of his favorite flicks at the New Beverly Center in L.A., starting February 17th.

Some of the flicks he’s got in store include familiar titles like CREEPSHOW, CARRIE, THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT (a double-bill with CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST), CADDYSHACK and BACHELOR PARTY. Then he’s lined up a few flicks I’ve never heard of, such as THE APPLE, and STUNT ROCK. And to throw everybody off course, the Scott Baio epic ZAPPED!

Check out the full New Beverly schedule HERE, and to read Eli’s thoughts on his program, check out his MYSPACE page.
