The Guest director Adam Wingard heads into The Woods

I don’t need to sit here and tell you guys how good THE GUEST (pictured above) is because everyone in the world has already done that, so let’s just leave it at the guy behind that psycho-fueled action thriller and YOU’RE NEXT is getting set for a new film that takes him back into the realm of horror. Per THR, Adam Wingard has signed to helm THE WOODS for Lionsgate.

The project is written by his longtime collaborator Simon Barrett (duh!) and while many of the details are being kept quiet, it does involve a group of college students on a camping trip who discover they are not alone. Even though that sounds like every other horror movie ever, I suspect that Wingard and Barrett have something special waiting in the dark on this one.

Roy Lee, Steven Schneider, Keith Calder and Jessica Wu are the producers. The team is looking to move fast on this, planning a spring shoot and looking to cast mostly unknowns. Keep an eye here for the latest on this one, folks.
