The Hidden seeds

Remember THE HIDDEN? You know, the one with the alien cop coming to earth hot on the heels of a criminal alien, who possesses folks and loves his firearms? I haven’t seen it for a while, though I do remember one part where a the criminal alien possesses a fat dude, then walks into a prison with an RPG (I think).

Anyhoo, if you’re in my position, don’t worry as Neal McDonough (fresh from his time on THE HITCHER remake) will refresh your memory by starring in a remake of THE HIDDEN, called THE SEED this time around (what, we wouldn’t figure it out sooner or later?). McDonough will join Australian actress Radha Mitchell in the film, which unlike the recent cookie cutter remakes, will share similarities with the original Jack Sholder flick, but for the most part, will feature a new storyline, thanks to a script by Mark Jonathan Stanley.

This time around, a mysterious killer returns from the past, forcing a young detective (played by Mitchell) to return to a case that took her mother’s life years before. Rock Shaink Jr. (who’s currently attached to SNUFFED, here) will direct the pic, which currently has no release date yet. Don’t worry, sooner or later, Hollywood will eventually tire of remakes, and focus on doing something equally as derivative.
