The Host Remade

Not that it should be all that big of a surprise, but as everything I’ve seen of the South Korean monster movie THE HOST stands alone and needs no tweaking what-so-ever (the effects are great!), so I’m kind of surprised it’s already in the works to be remade for American audiences.

Yes, I know. Big shocker. But this flick just came out! Multiple Studios and Magnolia Pictures have the rights, and are currently trying to strike a deal for a remake sometime this fall. Bugh.

Bong Joon-ho’s flick about a mutated monster eating folks left and right is said to already be a South Korean classic…. why not just release it that way?! Why remake it? It’s not like the effects could get any better…

According to Variety Joon-ho has already been approached to direct a Hollywood picture, so I guess there’s one thing good coming out of this. But that’s about it. Another day, another remake… yippie. Yay. I’m so estatic. Stick around for more info. on THE HOST remake, as I’m sure it will sell like hotcakes later this fall.
