The Immaculate Room: Emile Hirsch and Kate Bosworth star in sexy thriller

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Production is currently underway on writer/director Mukunda Michael Dewil's thriller The Immaculate Room, starring Emile Hirsch and Kate Bosworth, and a first look image has arrived online to prove it. You can see that image below.

The Immaculate Room follows

a seemingly perfect couple who take part in a psychological experiment that will reward them $5M if they can stay in a perfectly white room for 50 days. But the room is much more than it seems, and a hidden past and private demons will reveal shameful truths that they may not survive.

Hirsch and Bosworth are joined in the cast by Ashley Greene and M. Emmet Walsh.

Doug Murray of Productivity Media, Daniel Baur of K5 International, and Joel David Moore of Balcony 9 are producing the film, with National Picture Show's Max Osswald co-producing. Productivity Media's William G. Santor and Ryan Reaney serve as executive producers.

Dewil said,

I am thrilled to be working with such a strong ensemble cast. Directing a film during COVID is an altogether unique challenge, but in the end I believe telling this story with Emile, Kate and Ashley will provide some internal catharsis for us all. I’m grateful to them and the rest of the cast and crew and incredibly excited to share this story."

Santor described The Immaculate Room as "an intelligent, sexy, humanist thriller for our time" and says it takes its cue from critical and commercial successes like Black Mirror, 10 Cloverfield Lane, and Ex Machina.

The Immaculate Room touches on ever more relevant themes of surveillance and distraction, greed and lust, the state of our brains and our emotions in today’s crazy world. I cannot wait."

Moore believes Dewil's vision for the film will "take on a new resonance for so many experiencing the emotions of a confined life".

K5 International is handling the worldwide rights. We'll keep you updated on The Immaculate Room as it continues to make progress.

Dewil previously directed the 2011 thriller Retribution and the 2013 Paul Walker film Vehicle 19.
