Jaws board game

Earlier this year, we heard that Universal was teaming with toy and puzzle maker Ravensburger for a tabletop strategy board game based on Steven Spielberg's JAWS. That board game is now available for purchase, just in time for the 4th of July holiday, and it's being sold exclusively through Target. So if you want to grab a copy quick, head over to Target.com. The game goes for $29.99.

Experience JAWS as a suspenseful tabletop strategy game! One player menaces the island of Amity as the three-ton great white while the other players go on the hunt as Brody, Hooper, and Quint. Two thrilling phases of gameplay capture the edge-of-your-seat excitement of the classic movie.

As the description says, one player gets to play as the shark while up to three other players can play as the movie's character's Brody, Hooper, and Quint. The gameplay involves two acts.

In Act 1, the game is played on a side of the board that depicts Amity Island.

The shark prowls secretly through the waters around the island, attacking swimmers and avoiding capture. Meanwhile the other players try to pinpoint the shark's location while also saving the tourists.

And then, just like in the movie, the heroes head out to sea on Quint's boat called the Orca. Players flip the board over to play Act 2, which will allow them to

experience the climactic battle aboard the slowly sinking Orca. Brody, Hooper, and Quint are well-armed… but they don't know where the great white will strike next!

As a huge fan of JAWS, even though that movie traumatized me and gave me recurring nightmares of sharks, I am really excited to play this game.
