Taylor Sheridan’s The Madison Renewed for Season 3 Before Season 2 Drops

The Taylor Sheridan express ain’t slowing down any time soon. Despite Taylor Sheridan’s days with Paramount being numbered, thanks to his giant deal with NBC/Universal, his latest show, The Madison, is proving to be a runaway success. The short, six-episode first season, which aired in two batches last month, got eight million global views in its first ten days, marking Sheridan’s most-watched debut ever. The series, which has another season coming later this year (it’s already been shot), has now been greenlit for a third season, which presumably will air sometime in 2027.

The show stars Michelle Pfeiffer as Stacy Clyburn, the matriarch of a large family based in New York who, following a personal tragedy, relocates to an isolated ranch in the Madison River valley of southwest Montana. Kurt Russell co-stars as her loving husband, Preston, while Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, and Amiah Miller play their daughters. Former Suits star Patrick J. Adams, Will Arnett, Ben Schnetzer, and more co-star.

We gave The Madison a pretty positive review here on JoBlo, and our interviews with the supporting cast did really well for us earlier this month on our celeb channel (you can see them embedded below). One thing is for sure: Sheridan has his finger on the pulse of what a certain kind of underserved audience wants, and it’s no coincidence shows like YellowstoneMarshals, and Landman have been runaway hits. The Sheridan machine isn’t slowing down anytime soon, with Landman and Lioness each having third seasons on the way this year, plus a new season of Mayor of Kingstown, and then the premiere of his Yellowstone spin-off, Dutton Ranch.

It’ll be interesting to see if Sheridan’s shows start getting more Emmy love, with voters notably snubbing his well-reviewed Landman (Billy Bob Thornton was robbed of a Best Actor in a Drama nomination). Many think Pfeiffer’s performance in The Madison is worth some recognition.
