Warner Bros. has released the first footage from The Matrix: Resurrections, teasing the return of Neo and a trip back down the rabbit hole of reality. To view the footage, you’ll have to go to WhatIsTheMatrix.com, where you’ll be prompted to choose between the iconic red and blue pills. Once you’ve made your choice (I chose the red pill), you’ll be jacked into a teaser that’s sure to whet your appetite for bullet-time, mysterious characters, and artificial intelligence run amok.

First Matrix 4 footage

Oh, and in case you haven’t figured it out yet, the website totally tracks how many times you’ve watched the footage. I’ve watched it at least four times, and each time I did, the footage changed, if only slightly. The site also knows what time it is where you are in the world. It adds something of a creep factor to the experience. After all, there’s nothing quite like feeling like Agent Smith is watching you from inside your own computer.

Little is known about the plot thus far, though we can expect to be introduced to several new characters. Joining Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss for the hotly-anticipated trip into the Matrix are Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Christina Ricci, Priyanka Chopra, Neil Patrick Harris, and Jada Pinkett Smith.

The full trailer is set to drop this Thursday, September 9th, at 6 a.m. PT. Be sure to check back with us then to experience the latest for Lana Wachowski’s upcoming sequel.
