The Mortal Instruments bombs home on Blu-ray/DVD this December

Sony will hope the second time’s the charm for THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES this winter, when the studio releases the non-franchise starter on Blu-ray and DVD December 3rd. The film landed with a complete thud at the box office back in August, making such a mess that the brakes were put on the hastily-greenlit sequel (most likely dooming it).

If you did enjoy the film, or are still looking forward to seeing it, the Blu-ray is filled with extras, which is something nice for the loyal fans out there.

Clary Fray (Collins) is an ordinary teenage girl living in New York, but when her mother is attacked by a demon in her home Clary learns she is descended from a secret race of half-angel Shadowhunters who are fighting an ancient battle protecting the earth from evil forces.
