This article may be more indirectly related to horror movies, but I couldn’t help posting it. The details are just too damn fun and plus, I’m a HUGE fan of HALLOWEEN. Check this, some dude down in Hillsborough, North Carolina by the name of Kenny Caperton loves the Myers/Loomis saga so much that he is actually building a replica of the Meyers house to live in as his first home! Check out the blueprints above and below.
Caperton broke ground on the 5.21 acres of property this past Monday, July 7th. “I’ve been working for a long time to make building this house possible,” he says. “I’m overwhelmingly excited that it’s actually happening.”The property has been dubbed The Myers House NC.
“Halloween means a great deal to me, both the movie and the season,” Caperton wrote on his Myers House NC blog (click here to check it out), where he will document the entire build for fellow fans. “It brings back my childhood, and a time in my life when everything was fun and simple.”
The new 1,900-square-foot home may be slightly larger than the 1978 original and filled with more modern appliances, but that is basically where all dissimilarities end. And the house should be fully built before the end of the year. Maybe not in time for Halloween 2008, but Caperton already has “Trick-or-Treat” 2009 in his sights. “I’m thinking picnic tables and a big screening of HALLOWEEN in the front yard,” he says. Now that’s something I’d be into! Maybe I’ll even be able to spend the night (Caperton isn’t ruling out the possibility of a Myers Bed and Breakfast). However, I’d have to make sure not to get caught brushing my hair before a mirror in Judith’s old room!
