In addition to being a lot of fun, The Naked Gun was also a decent box-office success, with the reboot grossing over $102 million worldwide. Of course, there’s been talk of another Naked Gun sequel, but so far, nothing has been confirmed.

Seth MacFarlane on Naked Gun Sequel

While speaking with THR for the launch of the second season of Ted, The Naked Gun producer Seth MacFarlane was asked about the chances of a sequel.

I know everyone would love to, including Liam,” MacFarlane said. “We have not heard anything yet. I think it’s all up to Paramount.

Whether a sequel happens or not is still up in the air, but it would be hard to imagine the studio not giving it serious consideration. Come on, Paramount! Bring on the funny!

Liam Neeson is Ready

Liam Neeson starred in The Naked Gun as Lt. Frank Drebin Jr., with the story finding him running afoul of an evil tech genius (Danny Huston) while being aided by a mysterious femme fatale (Pamela Anderson).

Initially, Neeson didn’t think another sequel was in the cards, even calling the film a “one-off,” but he’s since changed his tune and is open to returning for a sequel. Although he admits he doesn’t know anything about it. “I honestly don’t know. I haven’t been approached,” he told Entertainment Tonight last month. “Yeah, sure. Obviously, if the script was good, Pamela was available and Danny Huston, hopefully. But, no, there’s been no phone calls. It’s nothing. And I think it did okay at the box office.

We Loved It

Our own Chris Bumbray said he had more fun watching The Naked Gun than anything in a long time. “Some might say The Naked Gun is stupid — and that’s exactly the point,” he wrote. “It’s stupid like a fox, and also really funny. It’s probably the best movie of its kind since Hot Shots: Part Deux, and honestly, I think I laughed more at this than I did watching The Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult.” You can check out the rest of his review right here.

Would you like a sequel to The Naked Gun or should it remain a one-off?
