The new poster for Les Miserables brings the face of the musical to life

Last week, I posted the extended first look at LES MISERABLES which increased my interest in the movie musical significantly. I am sure that fans of the musical are not entirely happy that the actors are singing the music live instead of against a pre-recorded version, but that makes the movie seem all the more realistic and epic. Tom Hooper may win me over with that tactic alone.

To take this approach one step further, LES MISERABLES now has a new poster that brings the iconic image of Cosette from the musical to life. Instead of featuring any of the headlining stars (Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried), the poster goes with Isabelle Allen as the child version of Cosette.

The poster is refreshing, bold, memorable, and at once instantly recognizable as LES MISERABLES.

Plot: Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption—a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.

LES MISERABLES opens on December 25th.
