The new Terminator film is titled Terminator Genisys

That’s not a typo. TERMINATOR GENISYS is apparently the actual working title of the new Terminator film. Let that sink in.

The revelation comes via a very reliable source: Arnold Schwarzenegger himself. The former Governator posted a pic on his Instagram account of himself sitting in a director’s chair. Right there on the back of said chair is that bizarre title.

Furthermore, Arnold solidified the weird spelling in a message to cast and crew (it would appear as though he’s wrapped shooting). Here’s the full text:

asta la vista, baby. I want to thank the cast and crew of @TerminatorGenisys for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding. From our director to the producers, from the camera team to catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup – we couldn’t have done it without you. I can’t wait to see our finished project and I know we’ll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. On July 1, 2015, I’ll be back.

I honestly don’t think this will stick; the backlash is going to be insane today, and fairly soon the producers will recognize the folly of their ways. For now, though, it’s TERMINATOR GENISYS all the way!
