The new X-Files won’t be sequelizing Home after all

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

About a month ago, we reported that the second episode of the X-Files reboot, entitled "Home Again," might just be a sequel to the classic, chilling Season 4 episode "Home." Unfortunately, that rumor has since turned out to be false. I guess it's true that you really can't go home again.

And sorry, internet, but you’re wrong: The second episode, entitled “Home Again,” won’t be a sequel to the infamously queasy horror opus “Home,” a lunatic love story about deformed, inbred children and the limbless mother they keep under their bed.

Regardless of this unfortunate fact, The X-Files is still shaping up to be a pretty damn cool reboot, with David Ducovny and Gillian Anderson back in the saddle along with creator Chris Carter and original writers James Wong, Glen Morgan, and Darin Morgan. It just might overload your nostalgia gland, so make sure you have your doctor on speed dial. (Remember speed dial? We're bringing back those 90's vibes.)

The series premiere, "My Struggle", centers on Mulder and Scully investigating Annet Mahendru's character, who is believed to be a "possible alien abductee," according to Joel McHale's character, a conservative talk show host who gives Mulder and Scully the tip to investigate her.

With original cast members Mitch Pileggi and William B. Davis also set to return, The X-Files will beam onto Fox with a six-episode season on January 24, 2016.
