The Punisher spinoff series officially ordered by Marvel and Netflix

The Punisher Jon Bernthal Banner

If you enjoyed Jon Bernthal's performance as Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher in the second season of Daredevil, then you'll be happy to know that the vigilante will indeed be getting his very own Netflix series!

EW was the first to break the news that Marvel has officially ordered a Punisher series, however we've known for a few months now that a solo show was in the works. In addition to writing the first two episodes, Hannibal's Steve Lightfoot will serve as the series' executive producer and showrunner. A teaser image and trailer have also been released (both of which you'll find below), however there's no word on when the series might be available on the streaming service, or if Bernthal's Castle will be part of the The Defenders team. What do you hope to see in Netflix's The Punisher?

As for the other upcoming Marvel-Netflix series, Luke Cage is set to premiere on September 30, 2016, while Iron Fist and The Defenders will likely be released sometime in 2017.
