The Revenant comes to Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on April 19th

Now that THE REVENANT has garnered Academy Awards for Best Actor (Leonardo DiCaprio), Best Director (Alejandro G. Iñárritu), and Best Cinematography (Emmanuel Lubezki), 20th Century Fox has announced the date you can take home the experience. The movie will hit Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on April 19th. For those of you who just need the digital iteration, you can download that bad boy on Digital HD March 22nd, a full month ahead of its disc counterpart. Special features have yet to be announced, although I wouldn't be surprised if it's heavily focused on the acting of Mr. DiCaprio, as well as Iñárritu's direction.

While THE REVENANT might not have been enough to bring home Best Picture, there's no doubts that it proved to be one of the most visceral cinematic experiences of last year. DiCaprio made a few good points during his acceptance speech regarding Iñárritu and the history he's carving out for himself. While I wouldn't rank THE REVENANT as the best of 2015, it's certainly one of the most unique. I can't wait to see what Iñárritu does next!

THE REVENANT will be available to own on UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on April 19th.
