If you liked the surreal horror anthology THE THEATRE BIZARRE, then you’ll be ticked by the news regarding its sequel, which is subtitled GRAND GUIGNOL. Bloody Disgusting has received the word that a batch of directors known for creating some of the more vivid genre pictures in recent memory are banding together to make THE THEATRE BIZARRE 2 a rather delectable French cuisine.

Xavier Gens (FRONTIERE(S), Olivier Abbou (TERRITORIES), Pascal Laugier (MARTYRS), Talal Selhami (MIRAGES), Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo (INSIDE) and Lucile Hadzihalilovic (INNOCENCE) have all boarded – or are close to boarding – the all-French sequel.

All I can say is oui!! (Sue me for being stereotypical.)

The site also got its hands on some promo art for the flick (seen on the right), which is likely being sold at the Berlin INternational Film Festival this week and next.

After the critical success of the first Theatre Bizarre anthology, it felt only natural to follow up with another serving of more over-the-top, brutal, visionary, envelope-pushing tales. And this time, carte blanche was given to the creme de la creme of French directors, who were all very happy to take Grand Guignol back to its original birthplace.
