The trailer for Dead Snow 2 aims for gore, laughs, and lots of dead people

Cinema is about to get much more horrific as we get closer to the month of October. Halloween brings forth the dread, the macabre, and usually some laughs. A surge of horror films will take hold as people seek to be scared and entertained with the likes of serial killers, ghosts and the almighty fan-favorite; zombies. If entertainment is what you seek, look no further than the new trailer for DEAD SNOW 2: RED VS. DEAD, which sets the tone nicely.

The synopsis is as follows:

Martin (Vegar Hoel) hasn’t had the best vacation. He accidentally killed his girlfriend with an axe. He cut his own arm off with a chainsaw. And his friends STILL got devoured by a battalion of Nazi Zombies. This morning, he woke up in a hospital bed with a new arm – but it’s a super-powered Zombie arm that wants to kill him, and anything else it can reach. Martin’s PISSED. And with the help of his new Zombie Squad pals (Martin Starr, Jocelyn DeBoer, Ingrid Haas), he’s gonna deliver some payback to Colonel Herzog and his precious Nazi gold – by raising an undead army of his own.

The good news for you folks who really dig what you see in the trailer is that everyone on the JoBlo team who's had the opportunity to see this flick has loved it. Chris Bumbray's review can be found here, and he goes on to say that it's the best zom-com since SHAUN OF THE DEAD (a quote which they happily threw into this trailer)! I don't know about you, but SHAUN remains of my absolute favorite of the zombie genre, so that immediately warrants attention. No doubt you'll hear more about DEAD SNOW 2 the closer we get to its release!

DEAD SNOW 2: RED VS. DEAD will see a limited US release on October 10, 2014.
